Post-Surgery Care — Cataract & Refractive Procedures

A. Immediate After-Surgery Care

  • Rest your eyes and avoid rubbing or squeezing them.

  • Protect the operated eye with the protective shield or dark glasses provided.

  • Do not splash water on your face or let soap enter your eyes.

  • Avoid driving, cooking, or strenuous physical work until advised otherwise.

Mild redness, watering, or irritation can be normal — but contact us promptly if you notice pain, sudden blurring, or discharge.

B. Medication Use

  • Use the prescribed eye drops exactly as directed.

  • Wash your hands before applying any medication and maintain a short gap between different drops.

  • Continue your systemic medicines (for diabetes, blood pressure, etc.) unless advised otherwise.

Never discontinue or change drops without consulting Dr. Saluja or the attending team.

C. General Activity Guidelines

  • Avoid rubbing, swimming, or dusty environments until your doctor allows.

  • Wear sunglasses outdoors to reduce glare and protect from UV exposure.

  • Refrain from eye makeup or heavy physical activity until cleared by your surgeon.

  • Keep your eyes clean and protected at all times.

D. Diet & Lifestyle

    • Follow a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables.

    • Keep blood sugar and blood pressure under control.
